15,425 candidates appeared in the written test for Sub-Inspector in JK Police


SRINAGAR:- Written test for the posts of Sub-Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police was held here on Sunday at 31 examination centres in twin capital cities of the State.

In all 15,425 candidates appeared in the written test for 698 posts in Executive/Armed and Police Telecommunication. Against 16,130 PET/PST qualified candidates, 15,425 candidates appeared in the written examination today under Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP).

About 96 per cent of the candidates from across the State appeared for the written test at 31 centres at Srinagar and Jammu. The examination was conducted in two shifts against 658 vacancies in Executive/Armed Police and 40 vacancies in Telecommunication Wing of J&K Police Department.

Earlier, in the first phase of recruitment, 16130 had qualified the physical test out of which 8,069 were from Jammu province and 8,061 were from Kashmir province.

More than 1,500 officers and police personnel were deployed for examination duties at these centres. Besides efficient security arrangements were made around the centres for smooth and fair conduct of the examination.
