A bomb blasts outside the court premises, three lawyers injured

At least three lawyers were reported injured in the crude bomb attack in lucknow court at Wazeerganj police station area on Thursday afternoon. Two more crude (sutli) bombs were also recovered from the spot.

The incident took place in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court near the District Magistrate’s office and barely a kilometer from the uttar Pradesh vidhan sabha building.

Lawyers in anger gathered demanding protection and questioning security in premises

He said 10 people hurled the bomb attack. He along with two other lawyers were injured. He said, “one bomb exploded and other two remains unexploded”. Questioning the security in the premises.

The team of bomb disposal and dog squad arrived at the spot.

According to Police, on Thursday afternoon they received a information about low intensity blasts in lucknow airport. They rushed to the incident when the explosion took place where the injured are not serious and just need primary medical attention.

Station house officer (SHO) of Wazeerganj police station Deepak Dubey said one person suffered an injury in his leg.

Soon after the incident the angry lawyers gathered  in unison addressing the media demanded protection. Sources confirmed, Kumar Lodhi also demanded security for himself after the attack.

Last month, lawyers struck work in protest against the recent attacks on them in the State.

On January 7, when lawyer Shekhar Tripathi (32) was beaten with sticks by five men in Lucknow, triggering anger among his colleagues who sat with the body at the district collectorate demanding justice.

In accordance to this the bar council of uttar Pradesh had asked the bas associations to abstrain from work and protest until the government pass legislation to protect lawyers.
