A court in Mumbai rejected the bail application of Aryan Khan, Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha in connection with a drugs case. They were arrested after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided a cruise ship and seized drugs last week.
Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar rejected the application saying it is not maintainable, which means the forum chosen to seek bail was incorrect.Aryan Khan and other accused are being taken to jail from the NCB office, as per sources. After their medical they’ll be sent to jail. Men will be sent to Arthur Road jail and women to Byculla jail.
All 8 accused, including Aryan Khan, have tested negative for COVID-19.”I am of the view that no custodial interrogation is required as sufficient time was given,” the judge said. The 23-year-old and the other accused spent the night at the offices of the drugs control agency, since the transfer hours for the jail was over.
Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan were not present in court. But they will now be able to meet him — the court allowed family visits at the offices of the agency. All eight were arrested on Sunday after the anti-drugs agency went undercover and raided a rave party on Saturday evening on the “Cordelia” cruise sailing from Mumbai to Goa.
Aryan Khan also has to be confronted with others arrested, the agency added, referring to Archit Kumar; Mr Kumar was arrested, the NCB claimed, basis of Mr Khan’s statement. However, Mr Khan’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, underlined a crucial point – that the NCB had not found drugs either on his client’s person or in his bags.
