“Finally out of Hari niwas, very different world”: Omar Abdullah


Omar Abdullah released on 24 March on Tuesday after eight months of detention. He was seen emerging from Hari niwas guest house near his official home in Srinagar, recently on 13th March, his father Farooq Abdullah also a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir was freed.

His sister filed a petition for his immediate release to which Supreme Court last week asked the centre to respond whether it planned to free him.

In this tweet the excitement could be seen, he says, “very different world today to the one that existed on 5th August 2019”.

After 232 days, after the release, he expressed how much he missed the meal with family through tweet and the happiness could be clearly seen in the photo with his mother and father.

He expressed his gratitude to Kapil sibal, Gopal Sankaranarayanan, Reyaz shariq and his sister Sara Abdullah pilot for taking up the fight against his unjust PSA (Public Safety Act) detention to the SC and filing petition for his release.

He also thanked his JKNC colleagues for undivided support and strength.

In one of this tweet his also told how to take protective measures in this period of coronavirus.
