Separatist Yasin Malik detained in late night

New Delhi: Kashmiri separatist leader and JKLF chief Yasin Malik was arrested from his residence in a late night raid on Friday. Malik’s detention comes ahead of crucial hearing on Article 35-A in Supreme Court that is likely to take place on Monday.
Police and paramilitary forces have been put on high alert but there was no confirmation about any more detentions. The action comes eight days after the terror attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, in which 40 soldiers were killed.
In a circular, the Ministry of Home Affairs has authorised 100 paramilitary companies to be rushed to Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect. The CRPF has been requested to “ensure immediate movement” of the armed forces, by the ministry.
